With the 15Min time limit – I did not finish! Got in 5 HPC on the 5th round. This one pissed me off…HPC killed me. 65lbs on the HPC/knee push ups. ARGGGHGGHGHGH…still pissed!
I guess they are still working on some of the bugs. No Beverly blog today. I had the chance to hit topsfield this morning. WOD 14.01… My HPC started to get stoppy on the 4th round. Opening my legs to get under the bar rather than pulling my hip under. Did really bad on the OHS challenge. Could only get one. I would like to think that is do to my max effort during the workout. So I have no need to revisit this WOD tonight.
WOD:14:11
Challenge: 13 OHS
This was very tough after last night’s Killer Steve HELL workout. Croz, your time would have been a few seconds faster if you had not stopped to pull your shirt off mid workout.
I had a chance to speak to Dave this morning. To talk about this addiction I have to beating my own times. In a nutshell he said give max effort in the morning and you won’t come back. I guess it worked. I have zero motivation to go into. My body is sore as hell. Thank good Dawn is in Beverly tomorrow.
Hey Crosbie….Who Cares!
You should keep your whining in Topsfield with the 9am Crew.
Joe V was “too sore” to make it today…Crapola!
Plus Jay likes when you take your shirt off too.
Bonus for you.
You dont have what it takes to make it to a 6am.
Ben I have a challenge for ya. Let Dave write up a WOD for the two of us. If we can get him to judge as well would be great. You know range of motion and completely locking out our movements or the rep doesn’t count. The looser has to have there picture taken in a dress and posted on the web page.
Ben, can’t write my excuse on the board…didn’t stop me from showing up (although I still would like a heli ride from Boston every day).
19:06
5×15 HPC (scaled to 75#)
1 x 30 full pushups, 4 x 30 knee pushups
…didn’t want to still be there working on this at 6 AM
11 OH Squats @ 95 before my arms fell off at the shoulders (Thank goodness my mom taught me long ago how to use cooked rice to stick things together!)…
Hey Ben, how’s your muscle-up coming along? I know some people in Topsfield who are your size who have one. You know who I’m talking about. And if his pull-ups suck as bad as you say, then how come he has a muscle-up and you don’t? Who’s making the excuses now?? Maybe if you take a day off when you’re sore, you’ll recover enough to get one.
All kidding aside, there is no reason you shouldn’t have one. You might be big, but you’re also strong as an ox. I bet if you worked on the progressions under the watchful eye of a coach, you’d get one within 30 minutes. I saw 4 people in my group at my Level 1 Cert get their first muscle-up when they said they couldn’t do one. But I prefer you not having one, because it’s the only card I can play on you.
Ok ladies,
this workout was already scaled down for you from the mainsite. It originally had 135# full cleans in it. The goal was to crush the workout. I was hoping for some real fast times. Then have a good rest and get to what was the real challenge for the day. 95# oh squats. Someone in the country just did 100 95#oh squats. I need everyone to start working harder on the challenges. Push yourself more! If your mechanics are not up to par spend more time practicing! Slow down and get it right. Your times will start to get much faster when you build up your ability to go fast with perfect form.

I always get confused…is a power clean…squatting once you clean it up? or do you just have to clean it up?
October 20th, 2009 at 11:27 am
Power clean is with minimal squat, just as low as you need to go to get under the bar. A full clean or squat clean requires the full squat.

cwgreen11…you’ve been extremely helpful. Ted and I would like to thank you.
Alex you suck.
