    not my best time but even Danny said my reps were all solid so this is a major improvement. Great job JP and Cas. Gordon..where were ya?

    Have fun everyone…best part about 6am is that we are DONE!

    Not my best showing either. For some reason 95# felt heavy from the get go. Maybe it was the 5 beers and superbowl food from last night…or the fact that I just eat like crap.

    Would like to thank JP for getting in my face for the last set of 9’s. Did the last nine thrusters and pullups straight. Maybe I just need someone in my face for all of Fran…So uh, Alex, if you’re free next time we do Fran, I don’t know anyone better to get in someones face and call them out.

    Rd of 21 felt great and then down hill from there. Legs are still tired from last weeks DT and all the rowing getting ready for the CRASH B on Sunday.

    Deadlifts 3×3 325#

    Fran–15/6 on the first set of thrusters–pretty easy

    got to the pull-up bar and felt wobbly and light-headed

    don’t know if it was the deadlifts, the thrusters or the
    N.O. X-plode energy drink on an empty stomach

    pulled the plug after 21 pullups

    First time I quit on a WOD–not happy–I’ll make up for it tomorrow

    NO-Xplode is evil Doug…that stuff makes me feel funky

    My kids did buy 3 Webkinz from you yesterday so all is not lost.

    NO Xplode usually helps my workout, but now I know never
    to drink it on an empty stomach:

    I did a litle googling.

    Here’s what I found:

    NO Xplode side effects

    * Some users reported mild to severe
    headaches
    * Diarrhea is also a possible side effect
    * Some users reported a better sexual stamina and harder erections
    * Increased tension
    * Increased blood pressure
    * Increased heart rate
    * Dizziness

    3×3 Deadlift 245

    Fran 8:05 PR (vs. 11:16 on 8/08 and 9:37 on 2/09)

    11,10 Thrusters (easy)
    11,5,5 Pull-ups (not bad)
    8,4,3 Thrusters (the suck is increasing)
    1,3,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 Pull-ups (devastating, totally depressing)
    3,3,3 Thrusters (tough, but just happy to be away from the pull-up bar)
    1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 Pull-ups (continuation of pull-up hell)

    And to think I was worried about the thrusters. My pull-ups need a lot of work.

    Thanks Kathryn! You’re totally right. In my mind I had a goal of 7 minutes. I definitely left at least a minute at the pull-up bar today, but even so, I still crushed my last time.

    Afternoon siesta for time: broke it up into 5 rounds of 10-15 minutes. Feeling much better. Oh, Fran looks tough. Good luck with that.

    I hate you FRAN. 4:48. Missed a PR by 9 seconds but I felt pretty good (except for a very dry mouth, haha). I have to find a way to make up some time (yeah yeah yeah push harder, I know.) Butterfly pull-ups could help but I can’t get more than 6 or 7 straight. I’m not sure how much faster those are anyway. Next time I’m shooting for sub 4:20.

    did the 6 pm class to make up for my non-workout at noon

    did a modified Grace workout

    30 full squat clean and jerks @ 135#–a lot slower and harder than power cleans

    tried to work on my form–reset after each lift–finished in 12 min or so

    Deadlifts are getting better and better! 3×3 @ 225 and the best part is that I KNOW I can go heavier!

    Took it real easy on the DL….still a little apprehensive to go heavy since shredding my L5 a few weeks ago
    3×3: 275-305-325

    Fran 2:51 Coulda done better had my grip not still been smoked from doing DT Friday
