GT MISSION
Our Mission is two-fold. First, to enhance the athletic performance of our athletes and athletic teams through our Hardcore Strength & Conditioning training methods. Second, to teach our young men life skills. Our workouts focus on teaching Mental Toughness, Leadership, Accountability, Competition, Team Building and most importantly the value of “Hard Work”.
The goal of GRIDIRON TRAINING is to teach our athletes important Life Skills. Our workouts are intense, and promote Mental Toughness. We are about teaching our young athletes Leadership, Mentally Toughness, Accountability, Competition, Overcoming your Fears, Believing in something Bigger than You, Sacrifice, Commitment, Communication, and most importantly the value of “Hard Work.”
We are not your typical athletic performance training center. We do not focus on the individual athlete. You will never hear the words “Me” or “I” used at GRIDIRON TRAINING. We do not just hand out a workout card or put the workout on the board. Athletes have to learn to communicate and hold one another accountable. GRIDIRON TRAINING is about “Us”. We focus on the “TEAM” concept. It is about a group of young athletes working together for a common goal.
As a kid growing up on the North Shore of Boston, I always had a real passion and love for strength training and conditioning. I loved training in the “Old School” warehouse gyms back in the 1980’s. My love for strength training started when I began training with my brother and some local friends at the old Iron Works Gym in Salem, Massachusetts. I remember the sight of the old brick building, the sound of loud intense music and steel weights clanging; and pounding on the floor and the smell of sweat in the air.
I never had anyone to mentor me and to show me how to train, but I was determined to learn it on my own and to be the very best. Through training hard and playing football, I began to build greater self-confidence and self-esteem. It was through football and lifting weights that I learned all of the life skills that I use in my everyday life.
I was very fortunate through hard work and perseverence to be able to live my ultimate dream of playng in the NFL. I remember the feeling of putting on my New England Patriots uniform for the very first time and playing in the first ever football game at Gillette Stadium.
More importantly, through my life experiences and football career, I learned many valuable life skills on character, discipline, trust, communication, teamwork, accountability, leadership, setting goals, overcoming adversity, having a dream and the value of “HARD WORK”. It is through all of these experiences that my vision came alive, and I bring you GRIDIRON TRAINING.
