Homework for the Week The Mile

NSCF Weightlifting Team competed last weekend at the Atlantic States Open.  We had 8 athletes compete and we took home 8 individual trophies and one 4 place team plaque.  Congratulations team!

We have a ton of pictures from the event.  I sifted through over 1000 to get a smaller photo album.

Six members of our North Shore CrossFit community competed at CRASH-B’s in Boston this past Sunday.  CRASH-B’s is the largest indoor rowing competition in the world drawing Olympians, national team members, collegiate and high school rowers and CrossFitters alike.  Men and women from ages 14 to 93 competed on Sunday in a 2000 meter race on Concept 2 ergometers.  (No. 93 in not a typo.  Mr. Paul Randall, age 93 posted a winning time of 10:43.2.)  After much cheering for Mr. Randall, Northshore CrossFit members, Rose Mini, Joe Rapuano, Sarah Wong, Michelle Link, Doug Link and Katelyn Romano showed their poise despite pre-race jitters and hammered out 2000 meters with five posting new P.R.’s and one coming within one second of a personal best.  Within minutes of recovering from their races, all were setting new goals and asking Coach Jane to start training at least a month earlier than this year’s training began.  This is a testament to their determination and competitive spirit.  Congratulations to the NSCF crew!

The Oly Team will be meeting at 6:15 on Wednesday night for an hour or so. Everyone competing in the Atlantic States Open on Sunday should try to be there. We are going to be going over meet procedures and working up to our opening attempts. See everyone there.
