Saturday, March 13th
10:30am
This meet is non-sanctioned (mock), which means it is an in-house competition and will not qualify any individual for any other Olympic weightlifting event hosted outside North Shore CrossFit. However, the USAW full rules will be enforced.
This event is for any member at either facility, any age (even kids), any weight class, any gender. And more importantly, it’s free! This will be a good chance for lifters who are not members of our competitive Olympic Weightlifting team to see first hand what a meet looks like, how it is run and the technical details that are involved in such a meet.
Weigh-in’s to determine your weight class will be at 10am and lifting will begin at 10:30am. Don’t worry about trying to cut weight, weight classes are used in conjunction with the Sinclair formula that will be used to determine your placement in relation to your body weight, age and your Clean & Jerk and Snatch weight.
At the time of registration we will also need to know your starting weight per lift (Clean & Jerk and the Snatch).
Even though we all enjoy seeing people in singlets, it is not required for this meet.
We will be using a timer, as required in sanctioned meets, as well as judges to determine whether your lift was successful or not. There will be a separate warm up area to ensure proper warm up by everyone.
Whether you are new to O-lifting or are a well-seasoned lifter, this will be a great experience for all. Registration will be required and the deadline is Friday, March 12th. There will not be any walk-in registrations allowed the day of the competition, as we will need to know ahead of time the number of lifters and starting weight for each lift to figure out placement of lifters.
We will be going over the format of the competition and strategy at the 6:30pm olifting class in Topsfield on Wednesday night. Everyone is welcome!!!
