Day three of veggie detox. Things are still going well. Have not hit any major bumps with this. It has been driving me nuts watch people work out though. So I jumped in today.
Snatch worked on getting under the bar better. So I did a bunch of reps at 75 and then a few at 95.
WOD 1: Used a 20in box and anchored feet sit up down 2:57.
WOD 2: 21 pullups, 21 burpees, 400m run, 15 pullup, 15 burpee, 400m run, 9 pullup, 9 burpee 8:50.
Doug thanks for bringing in some of the toys today. I think Brent has some new competition with that foam roller. The EMS thing was great my shoulder hasn’t felt this good in a long time.
AWAY WOD:
Run: 1.5 mile warm up, 1.5 mile sprint intervals ( 30 sec sprint( 5 min/mile pace), 1 min. run ( 8 min/mile pace) Total Distance: 3 miles Total time: 22:29
200 double unders
Thrusters: 3 sets of 10 reps with 110 lbs.
You don’t realize how loud double unders are until you are doing them in the middle of the Ipswich YMCA workout room.
5PM- Back to the basics today at level 1 class just going over form on Turkish get ups and back squats. level 1 WOD 800mrow 2:45.6 decent i gased out right around the 500m mark.
6PM- Snatches enough said. I need to work on Overhead squats more to build up that strength and mobility. 75# 75# 85# 95# 95# multiple failures in there but kept after it til i got them in clean. WOD LVL 2.5 no V-ups but did box jumps at 30″ no anchor for feet 4:11.
Challenge 61 pullups in 2min and then i decided to give myself another challenge and see what my max box jump height would be. Made it up to 45.5″ which i will take anyday after that WOD. I didnt want to risk going any higher legs were starting to shake.
The key to good mechanics. See your olympic lifts frame by frame. Break old running habits with a 45 minute video analysis session.

Snatch- 65x2, 95x2, 115x1, 125x1 ran out of time, would have been interested to try 135
WOD- 4:07 really happy to beat Ben in a Wod that includes situps, doesn’t happen too often for me.
Max pullups in 2 min- 28 probably could have gone a lot harder here, but still beat Ben so it was a good day.
Nice to have ya Back at the 6am Ben.

Just worked on form with snatch and OH squats -- have a long way to go. I have to do them more often.
WOD: 4:22 -- I let Cas and Ben beat me by a few. They looked like they needed a pick me up.

up to 115 on full snatches … 135 Power Snatch, kind of hesitant to get under it.

form still needs work on full snatches --hips are rising too early during
the initial pull-- started at 75, worked up to 115
WOD -stepping down instead of jumping down really slows down your box jumps--
I’m still worried about injuring my knee again--5:05

WOD -- 6:00, thanks to JP for the motivation! My end pace would have been slower. Modified the box jump to the small box + 45lb plate.

After 2 days of travel I made it back in time for the 4:30 and found a small class, a platform to myself and expert coaching from Dawny 5.0.
Snatch: 115 full squat no problem, 145 power snatch
