WOD sub 40:00 pace through first 3 rounds (4:14/5:57/6:15). Unfortunately, there
were 5 rounds. Last 2 rounds were ugly–my conditioning still could use
a lot of improvement. Kips were strong and smooth through 1st 2 rounds–not so
much for last 2 rounds.
BARBARA: 35:15 total. I found the pushups to be the limiting factor. I could only link 3 in a row at the end. I found it is distracting to do situps while someone is heaving their chicken and apple breakfast up into a bucket in the middle of the gym. NICE EFFORT JOEY PUKIE! You would have beaten all of us if Jay hadn’t messed with your water bottle contents. With age comes wisdom.
Holy Crap.
What a workout. I loved it. Sadly, there was no way I was RXing that one. Had to go to my knee on pushes and red band for pull ups.
Last round cut the reps in half so I finished with 4.5 rounds.
Good stuff. I think my time was 46
Great work Beverly 9 am.
see you tomorrow for the WOD of rolling only
Danny V. You will not be alone on June 19th as you walk up Mt. Washington. I have just sent in my registration. We do Crossfit to prepare us for life’s physical and mental challenges, this should be both. Now you need to sign up for a tri with me.
I am going to sign up for the Mt. Washington Race if and only if I am going to get a T-shirt from you saying “NorthShore Crossfit: I did not train for this race”. Otherwise, I will run Wachusett race in May: closer, cheaper, and no lottery.
Vlad: we can handle that. Tim: I’m in for a tri this summer. I haven’t swam a lap since I tore my shoulders up five years ago, but I’ll hop in the pool sometime soon and see what happens!
Experiment: Just finished Born to Run – must read if you haven’t. Drank a giant Chia Fresca before Barbara. It seems to work, I found another gear for the last round.
WOD: 38:05 Last round of pull ups were ugly but felt strong on the others to the end.
The key to good mechanics. See your olympic lifts frame by frame. Break old running habits with a 45 minute video analysis session.

Testimonials
I have played sports all my life and always tried to keep myself in good physical condition in spite of injuries and too many birthdays! Five years ago I hurt my back at 55 years old and my physical conditioning went down hill. I finally found a fantastic Chiropractor and he helped to eliminate my back pain. I then needed to get into shape and I knew I needed an all around conditioning program with great instruction to assure that I would not hurt myself by pacing my work outs. I found it with David Picardy and North Shore CrossFit.

Wow. I thought endurance was my strength and this workout has me questioning that. Congratulations to everyone who finished!

Danny, I though you already signed up for the race. Your post the other day stated that you HAD…not that you were thinking about it.
March 2, 2010 at 6:43 pm
Tim,
I will not be at that race…FACT!
Great job today to everyone who took on Barbara.

Barbara WOD: 31:38. Seems like a weekend of yoga and rest was a good thing after all.

Goland, I signed up Monday. What are you smoking? I’m going to walk up backwards and sideways … might be easier.
