Olympic Weightlifting

Olympic Weightlifting

North Shore CrossFit is one of only a few registered USA Weightlifting clubs in the Boston area, USA Weightlifting is the governing body of the sport—Olympic style Weightlifting. We have one certified USAW Club Coach and 4 certified USAW Sports Performance Coaches on staff. We train athletes to become better Olympic Weightlifters, as well as make Crossfitters, football players, wrestlers, basketball players, rugby players track athletes and any athlete for that matter, more explosive and powerful in their respective sport. Unfortunately, while the need for the lifts’ incorporation into athletic training is great, qualified instruction is extremely limited. Weightlifting refers to the Olympic sport which includes the “clean and jerk” and the “snatch”. Olympic weightlifting develops strength (especially from the hips), speed, and power like no other training modality. The benefit of Olympic weightlifting doesn’t end with strength, speed, power, and flexibility. The clean and jerk and the snatch both develop coordination, agility, accuracy, and balance. Contact us to schedule private training.
