Class Levels Descriptions

Level 1 Beginner

For students at an entry skill level and entry fitness level. Time on the Baseline Workout time is slower than 9 minutes. Many movements that are done in a gym and/or in CrossFit are unfamiliar. Starting to get to know the names of movements, but still unsure of the amount of weight to use, and exactly how to do many of the more complex CrossFit movements. Class focus is on basic conditioning and movement skill and technique.

Level 2 Intermediate

Baseline Workout time is between 4:30 – 9:00.
Confidence, strength and conditioning are stronger than ever. Working on mastering all of the basic and intermediate CrossFit movements and are working towards mastering more advanced weightlifting and gymnastic movements. Can take a friend through a CrossFit workout with confidence. Pull ups are done without assistance.

Level 3 Advanced

Student is confident and capable with all CrossFit movements and workouts and has made CrossFit a regular part of life. He/she is comfortable and confident creating their own workouts and is working on mastering specific skills. Student has attended a CrossFit seminar or a specialty seminar and can serve as a model for any movement in a class. Level 3 students are looked upon as the leaders at North Shore CrossFit even though they are not necessarily instructors.
