The thing that makes your program different from other gyms? VARIETY. The workouts do not get mind-numbingly boring as I have experienced all others to be, because they are different every time. Another different thing - RESULTS. Quick and dramatic ones...and - no injuries. I find it to be much easier on the joints(in fact, all of mine are much stronger and more injury resistant now, I believe) than the boot camp I did, for instance, and my back doesn't hurt at all any more (unless I do something dumb in gymnastics, but I'm pretty sure that isn't your fault.)

I have been an athlete for most of my life. I have never participated in a training program as challenging, engaging and successful as Crossfit. In the short time that I have followed the CF program, I made fitness gains that no other training I have tried could have delivered. I will be incorporating Crossfit into my coaching - I know the kids will enjoy it and I am certain that it will make our team more successful.

I am 24 years old and I have been an athlete most of my life. Over the past few years I found myself becoming extremely bored with my typical everyday workouts at the gym. When I heard about Norht Shore CrossFit I was really interested in trying out the program. I have been participating for over a month now, and I feel as though I have finally found a workout program that I truly enjoy! The classes are challenging, the variety of each class makes the program fun, and I started seeing results immediately. This is exactly the type of program I have been looking for!

I began working out at Northshore Crossfit because I really needed to make some healthy lifestyle changes. I hadn’t exercised in over a year. I was experiencing a lot of joint pain and stiffness and I had gained weight. In 4 1/2 months I have lost 26 pounds, and have built my strength, stamina and energy level. I am doing strength building exercises I have never attempted before like push up, dips, pull ups, and overhead squats. I am amazed at what I am able to do. All the work outs are not only core strength building, but they are cardio workouts at the same time. I have found that it is a much more efficient way to exercise because I have accomplished much more in a 3 work out a week program with North Shore CrossFit than I ever did walking 5 days a week at 4.5 miles per hour. I love working out at North Shore CrossFit, because I do work hard and I know I have accomplished so much good for my physical well being. To age gracefully, it is important to stay in top physical condition. If I can start a program like this at age 53, any one can do this program!

I have played sports all my life and always tried to keep myself in good physical condition in spite of injuries and too many birthdays! Five years ago I hurt my back at 55 years old and my physical conditioning went down hill. I finally found a fantastic Chiropractor and he helped to eliminate my back pain. I then needed to get into shape and I knew I needed an all around conditioning program with great instruction to assure that I would not hurt myself by pacing my work outs. I found it with David Picardy and North Shore CrossFit. He took me through 3 months of one on one training 3 times a week and I loved it. The CrossFit philosophy of building you from your core out through diverse gymnastic and calisthenic exercises was great. I have been working out for I year and I am stronger now then when I was 50 and I took 2 inches off my waste while reshaping my body to where I want it! If you are a true athlete and always cared about physical fitness, then look no further than NorthShore CrossFit of Topsfield!

I’m a stay-at-home mom in my late 40’s who had fallen off the wagon with respect to exercise. When my doctor read me the riot act at my annual physical last year, I signed up with a local personal training franchise. After experiencing the disruption of recurrent staff turnover at this first facility, it was a tremendous relief to me to start working out under the direction of Dave Picardy. He consistently pushes me to my limits, but never to the point of injury, and he’s a pleasure to work with. The workouts he sets up for me are constantly changing and always challenging (and thus never boring), and my fitness level is now far superior to what it was a year ago. Dave has run exercise sessions for my and my friends at my home before he opened his studio in Topsfield, and he’s also run sessions for my children, including a games session for my 8-year-olds’s birthday party. My kids were busy with hockey and skiing over the winter, but they’re now anxious to resume their weekly sessions with Dave (especially since they’ve gotten a look at some of the nifty toys he has in his new space!) I recommend Dave to anyone looking for assistance with improving their stamina, strength, agility, balance and flexibility.

After years of agony from back pain due to a weak core and a herniated disk, Dave Picardy saves the day! I had worked with Physical Therapists referred to me by my Doctor early on during my battle with back pain with no real progress. I moved on to try Chiropractic Care, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture Treatments and finally a Cortisone shot in my spine; none of which showed any significant results. It seemed that no one could help and I feared I would suffer from back pain forever. And then it all changed. Knowing Dave as friends for a few years and seeing his success with clients in his Personal Training career, I went to him for advice. He confidently assured me that his unique method of strength training could help so I gave it a shot. Dave really gave me a positive experience with the exercises which were very different from anything I had done in the past. He even had me looking forward to the work outs which I thought was impossible. He definitely lived up to his promise and I am more than happy with the results. His functional approach to strength training and his tactic of always targeting the core for stability has changed my life and the way I work out forever. My body has changed dramatically and I have significantly improved strength in my core muscles. I am in the best shape of my life and have finally gained control of my back pain. Dave has been a great inspiration for me to continue transforming myself into the shape I have always wanted and he has given me the training knowledge needed to keep it going on my own.

Crossfit is a tremendous confidence builder. It really makes you feel stronger – physically and mentally.

Let me begin by saying I am a 62 year old male. I have been diagnosed with hypertension, high cholesterol (LDL) and low HDL levels. A year ago I was having pain and numbness in my left though. An MRI showed I have 2 herniated discs in my lower lumbar area of my back. So to say I was “apprehensive” about this undertaking is an understatement.

At 62 I was more than just “concerned” that I could handle the “workouts of the day” my wife, who is 61 was equally apprehensive. I recently read a doctors’ report that proclaimed exercise to be the best medicine. Let me proclaim that CrossFit is the best exercise- hands down!
You don’t have to be anxious because the trainers are very good and you exercise at your level- it does not matter whether you are 20 or 80 years old. You will get fit. You will feel better. You will be stronger! I cannot believe the difference in only 3 months. I am stronger and leaner and so is my wife.

I love CrossFit and will continue in the future. My strength and flexibility have vastly improved.CrossFit! What else can I say? Whole new way of moving. Also, Dave and co. are really great. They are so encouraging and welcoming. This could have been extremely intimidating for a lot of people but isn’t because of his staff. I talk them up all the time.

Working out 5x per week. Way stronger, more endurance. Sense of community at CrossFit is something I’ve never felt before at a gym.
The trainers at CrossFit have been absolutely wonderful, and have helped modify skills to my individual level. They’ve also pushed me when they know I’m ready to move up a notch or two. I feel like I have 1:1 coaching, despite, the fact that there are usually 15 people at my class, I feel a sense of community, and I’m happy to say that I’m a “regular” at the 6 a.m. Monday through Friday class. I have made great strides and like how I feel at the end of each class. CrossFit brings out the competitor in me, but the only one I’m competing against is me. I am stronger, have greater endurance and plenty of energy to get through a crazy day with 2 small children.

I’ve trained everywhere with everyone, these guys are the best hands down.
